... for single, widowed, separated and divorced people who enjoy caravanning & camping in a friendly, sociable environment, throughout Great Britain.

THE LONERS GROUP was formed in 1976 for those who caravan alone because of bereavement, divorce, separation or single status.

Membership is about 400, ranging in age from the mid 50s. There is roughly a 50-50 mix of men and women camping in caravans and motorhomes as well as the occasional tent. The atmosphere is friendly because members have two things in common. They are one their own and they enjoy caravanning.

Meets and rallies are held throughout the country from March to October, often more than one in any given week. Meets usually last seven days – Sunday to Sunday – and rallies five days. Tours of Wales, Scotland and other areas (sometimes even abroad) are held most years. Members do not have to attend the whole of a meet, rally or tour but as much or as little as they please. We are very free and easy – you only join in things you wish to – we all have times when we go off on our own.

MorningMeet3

The morning often starts around 10 or half past with a brew when we gather at one of the ‘vans for a natter and to sort out what we are doing during the day. Some may arrange to go a walk; others to a market; others to visit a local place of interest and yet others will stay on site to “chill”.

There are always interesting things to do and beautiful places to visit.
