Welcome to the Loners' Group Home Page

We are a group of solo tenters, motor caravanners and caravanners who camp alone. The group was formed in 1976 by people who were widowed, divorced, separated or single. Through the main caravanning season THE LONERS organise several meets each week to suit our members living in all parts of the country. In any one week of 2012 or 2013 or 4 groups of LONERS might be in any of these locations or in 152 others.

 October to March Winter Lunches
This is an easy way to meet other Loners and learn more about the Group. Once you have joined you will find full details of Winter Lunches in the Newsletter

This page gives an impression of some typical activities during Loners' meets. Note that we are very free and easy - you only join in the things if you wish to, as we all have times when we want to go off on our own. The morning usually starts with having a coffee and a chat in the sunshine (we hope).

Coffee morn

At coffee time some may arrange to go for a walk, others to a local market for some retail therapy, a few to visit a National Trust house while the rest stay on site and 'chill out'. When possible we share cars on our expeditions. Then, at the end of the day, we meet up again to find out what everyone else did and plan for tomorrow.

One thing we do excel at is eating, either with "on site" BBQs or out at a local hostelry.

When at a meet or rally there are always helping hands when one has a problem

We don’t guarantee good weather but we do have good company.

Members receive a quarterly newsletter, an annual programme and a Membership Directory. These details are NEVER circulated to anyone other than Loners, so you may be assured of confidentiality.

Winter2

Our walks are sometimes strolls and sometimes longer expeditions.
